Jake's Hero

These pictures are from our trip to Lower Mesa Falls. When we got there we were talking about how far these falls are from the observation point and how you can't get that great of pictures and then after taking a few pictures Jake or Clint saw something unbelievable. There was a kayaker about ready to go down the falls. We couldn't believe it. I was hurrying to get my camera set up and before we knew it he was descending the falls. Clint and I just started shooting pics as fast as we could. We just couldn't believe we were seeing this. It was absolutely amazing. The kids thought it was really cool also. Jake and I were probably the most excited about the whole thing. We thank this unknown kayaker for the show!!!

Wow!!! These are smaller than I expected!!! You can kinda see the kayaker just about ready to go over the falls. He is river left in an orange kayak. If you can't find him look at the next pic and then use your imagination as to where he came from and you will be able to see him.

Here the kayaker had now gone over the edge of the falls and is on his way down down down.

This photo is just small enough that you can't hardly see the tail of his kayak right in the middle of the photo. You can't see him at all he is behind all the water created by the waterfall.
In this photo you can just see him coming out from underneath the waterfall river left.
Safely our and counting his many blessings I am sure.

Now we were really excited because we thought he was going again and we were going to get some pictures now that we were prepared to take them. But after going over it for a few minutes with his buddy they call the whole thing off.
This is them carrying the kayak back down the mountain.
