Biking The Hiawatha

June 25th we went with our friends the Miller's to bike the Hiawatha bike trail again. The kids were sooooo excited!!! They had been training for a while before going so they would have the endurance to ride the entire trail. We decided beforehand that the kids would not ride the 1.7 mile long Taft tunnel because with how dark it is inside sometimes even adults lose their ability to ride strait and stay upright so that would make the normally 30 mile round trip ride only about 26 miles long.
We started at about 10:30am. The kids were such troopers!!! They had sooooo much fun!! We went through 9 tunnels each directions and the kids loved every one of them!!! They would be asking when we would go through another tunnel before we even got out of the one we were in. I was SHOCKED at how well Kaden did. I don't think we heard even one complaint from all of the kids all day long. By the time we returned to the cars it was about 7pm so it was a long day in the saddle. I am sooooo proud of our kiddos!!!
Here are some pics of our ride....

In the end Kaden rode 23.5 miles of this ride ALL BY HIMSELF!!! We ask him to ride on a trail-a-bike for 2.5 miles while Saige rode his bike because he was starting to wobble quite a bit and that was making us nervous. We were sooooo proud of Saige because she had just learned to ride her bike without training wheels just before coming and she had NEVER ridden with hand breaks so she had a little learning to do but she did AWESOME!!! I am shocked we didn't have any complaining!!! Our kids ROCK!!!
